Frequently Asked Questions
What is nine-fourteen?
nine-fourteen is a small business, owned by Melissa Robertson, a virtual assistant.
What does nine-fourteen mean?
nine-fourteen represents the month and year that I decided to change my life. For good. (please read the About page)
What is a virtual assistant?
A virtual assistant (VA) is typically self-employed and provides professional administrative, technical, or creative (social) assistance to clients remotely from a home office.
What are some benefits to hiring a virtual assistant?
- Clients are not responsible for any employee-related taxes, insurance or benefits.
- Clients also avoid the logistical problem of providing extra office space, equipment or supplies.
- Clients pay for 100% productive work, and can work with Virtual Assistants, individually.
- Clients won’t have to worry about small, timely tasks.

What if I have no idea what I need?
That's perfectly fine. I can help you figure that out.
What are nine-fourteen's fees?
nine-fourteen offers two levels of packages for clients. These packages vary from the simplest of tasks (like managing your email account) to more complex tasks (like managing your business's social media account or blog). However, I give every client five (5) FREE hours with a signed contract.
Why is a contract important?
A contract protects both nine-fourteen and you/your business. There has to be a certain level of trust between clients and their VA. A contract helps create trust as well as insures that the client and the VA are on the same page.
How will nine-fourteen handle sensitive client information?
I always give my clients a confidentiality agreement plus a non-disclosure agreement. These are both included in our contract.
How do you move forward?
I send every new client a "welcome packet". The packet helps break things down and explains how this works. Included is a contract and a client questionnaire. These must be filled out, signed and returned before I can start working. Send me a message and we can get started.
